May 5-15, 2006

Sunday May 7: Lunch in Aguas Nuevas. Picnic with families and walk down the Roman road, students, teachers and some parents.
Almuerzo en Aguas Nuevas. Comida en el campo con las familias y después estudiantes, profesores y algunos padres bajaron por la calzada romana hasta Ubrique

It was a great opportunity to meet the families and to be together. They shared their traditions and games.
Fue una gran oportunidad para que todas las familias se reunieran. Compartieron sus tradiciones y juegos.

In the afternoon we walked down the Roman road.
Por la tarde bajamos de vuelta a Ubrique por la calzada romana.
It was a wonderful day with a temperature of 25º C. Families, students and teachers enjoyed the delicious Spanish specialities.
Hizo un día estupendo, con una temperatura de unos 25º. Las familias, los estudiantes y los profesores pudimos disfrutar de platos típicos españoles.

Monday May 8 : The students from ISGR were welcomed by the principal at the School's Auditorium.
El director del IES Ntra. Sra. de los Remedios, D. Juan Coronel, dio la bienvenida a los estudiantes del ISGR en el Salón de Actos del centro.

Durante la clase de historia sobre el mundo árabe en España.

Visiting the old town city of Ubrique.
Visita al casco antiguo de Ubrique.

It was a great experience for the students to attend school and be able to listen and learn Spain's history in Spanish.
In the afternoon, they enjoyed the visit to the old town city and appreciated the wonderful view from the mountain.

Fue una gran experiencia para los estudiantes suecos asistir a clase y poder escuchar y aprender algo de la historia de España en español.

Por la tarde disfrutaron con la visita al casco antiguo y pudieron apreciar la maravillosa vista desde la montaña.

Tuesday May 9 : Excursion to Itálica ruins and Sevilla.

Excursión a las ruinas de Itálica y a Sevilla.


	We visited the Itálica ruins in the Roman Route version. We had a guided tour, and then the students relaxed in a small train through Santiponce town. They had a wonderful time. Visitamos las ruinas de Itálica. Hicimos una visita guiada y los estudiantes pudieron dar un paseo relajado en el trenecito que recorre Santiponce.

		In the afternoon, we visited Reales Alcázares Palace and then the Cathedral, where the students could see Christopher Columbus' tomb. We also visited the Plaza de España. Por la tarde visitamos los Reales Alcázares y la Catedral, donde los estudiantes pudieron ver la tumba de Cristóbal Colón.

Wednesday May 10 : Visit to a leather factory.

Vista a una fábrica de artículos de piel.

Thursday May 11 : Visit to Pileta cave and Ronda.

Vista a la cueva de la Pileta y a Ronda.





	The visit to Pileta Cave was great and interesting. The students could appreciate some drawings from the prehistoric age, 25.000 years ago, saw the stalactites and stalagmites and walked through the cave for about one kilometer. The cave is 5 kilometers long. La visita a la cueva de la Pileta fue estupenda e interesante. Los estudiantes pudieron apreciar las pinturas prehistóricas de hace unos 25.000 años. Vieron estalactitas y estalagmitas y caminaron 1 Km. por la cueva. La cueva tiene unos 5 Km. de largo.







	In Ronda we visited the famous bullring. The students walked inside and enjoyed being there, also they could appreciate the bullfight museum with different customs from famous "matadores" bullfighters, and its history, as part of Spain's traditions. En Ronda visitamos la famosa plaza de toros. Los estudiantes pasearon por el ruedo. También vieron el museo taurino que hay en la misma plaza de toros, en donde pudieron ver los trajes de luces de famosos toreros y su historia como parte de las tradiciones de España.	Later in the afternoon the students visited the well known bridge from Ronda and enjoyed its magnificent view. Por la tarde visitamos el conocido Tajo de Ronda y disfrutamos de sus maravillosas vistas.

Friday May 12 : Class about the Roman world by one of the school History teachers.

In the evening farewell and performance by some IES Ntra. Sra. de Los Remedios students.

Clase sobre el mundo romano por uno de los profesores de historia.

Por la tarde algunos estudiantes del IES Ntra. Sra. de los Remedios nos deleitaron con bailes españoles como despedida.

Están acompañados por el profesor de historia que dio la clase sobre el mundo romano. En la segunda foto están los estudiantes de Gotemburgo durante la clase de historia.



	The IES los Remedios School Principal Mr. Juan Coronel thanked the teachers from the ISGR, _Mrs. Linette Irigoyen de Salvador and Mrs. Susan Kohansall. El director del IES Ntra. Sra. de los Remedios, D. Juan Coronel le dio las gracias por su visita a las profesoras del ISGR Dña. Linette Irigoyen y Dña. Susan Kohansall.	Later in the evening some IES los Remedios students performed a Flamenco dance and a modern dance in honor of the students from Gothenburg. Por la tarde algunas estudiantes del centro bailaron música española y moderna en honor a los estudiantes de Gotemburgo.

Saturday May 13 : Visit to Cádiz. The students visited the archeological museum and the old town city. Later in the afternoon they could enjoy themselves on the beach.

Visita a Cádiz. Los estudiantes visitaron el Museo Arqueológico y el casco antiguo. Por la tarde se bañaron en la playa.

Monday May 15 : Farewell Despedida

Thanks to the teachers from ISGR and to the students for their visit and for letting us have the opportunity of having them with us in Ubrique.

In September we will visit them in Gothenburg.

Thanks to all the parents for their cooperation in all the activities.

Gracias a las profesoras y a los estudiantes del ISGR por su visita y por darnos la oportunidad de tenerles entre nosotros aquí en Ubrique.

En septiembre les visitaremos en Gotemburgo.
